Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are and what we do

HobbyTrade UK operates an online classified advertising platform that allows members to advertise second-hand hobby and sports equipment to other members. We are not a party to any sale. We do not own, inspect, hold, ship or take payment for any item advertised, and we do not act as agent for buyer or seller.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
• You must give accurate registration details and keep your password secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One person may not operate multiple accounts to evade moderation.

3. Listing rules

• You must own the item, or be lawfully entitled to sell it.
• Listings must be accurate, must not be misleading, and must include known faults.
• You must comply with our Prohibited Items Policy and all applicable UK law, including the Firearms Acts, the Restriction of Offensive Weapons Acts and consumer protection legislation.
• Business sellers must identify themselves as such and comply with consumer law obligations that apply to traders.

4. Transactions between members

Any contract for the sale of an item is between the buyer and the seller only. Payment, inspection, collection and delivery are arranged directly between them. We do not provide escrow, buyer protection, refunds or dispute resolution, and we are not liable for the condition, legality, safety or description of any item.

5. Featured listings and fees

Standard listings are free. Optional paid promotion may be purchased for a fixed period. Paid promotion affects placement only and is non-refundable once the promotion period has started, except where required by law or where we remove the listing for reasons that are not the seller's fault.

6. Moderation and suspension

We may edit, hide or remove any listing, review or message, and may warn, suspend or permanently close any account, where we reasonably believe these terms, our Community Guidelines or the law have been breached. Where practical we will tell you why.

7. Content you provide

You keep ownership of your photos and text, and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the platform. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from dealings between members.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless local consumer law gives you a different right.
