Prohibited Items Policy

Never allowed

• Handguns and any weapon prohibited under Section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968.
• Any regulated firearm, shotgun, air weapon or part listed outside the Firearms & Shotguns category.
• Ammunition, primers, propellant, powder, reloading components, expanding ammunition and blank cartridges.
• Crossbows, stun guns, pepper spray, CS gas and other offensive weapons.
• Flick knives, gravity knives, zombie knives, push daggers, butterfly knives, disguised blades and any knife listed under the Restriction of Offensive Weapons Acts.
• Live animals, live game, protected species, taxidermy of protected species, ivory and eggs.
• Explosives, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics and pressurised cylinders.
• Stolen property, or items you cannot prove you are entitled to sell.
• Counterfeit branded goods, replica identity documents and police or military insignia.
• Prescription medicines, veterinary medicines, performance-enhancing drugs and supplements making medical claims.
• Gun safes with combinations or keys included, when sold together with any regulated item.

Allowed with restrictions

• Shotguns, Section 1 firearms, air weapons and gun parts where lawful — only in the regulated Firearms & Shotguns category. Every listing is reviewed, postal delivery is off, and transfers must be via an RFD or lawful face-to-face transfer with certificate checks.
• Shooting accessories such as clothing, bags, targets, hearing protection, scopes and mounts — provided no regulated component is included.
• Knives and multi-tools that are legal to sell: buyers must be 18 or over and the listing must state age verification on collection or delivery.
• Fishing gear: no illegal nets, traps or unlicensed live bait.
• Motocross and karting machinery: sold as off-road only, with any road-legality claims accurate.
• Protective equipment such as helmets and body armour: describe age, impact history and expiry honestly.
• Gas stoves and fuel canisters: empty canisters only, and never posted.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for making sure the item you list, and the way you sell it, complies with UK law. If you are unsure whether something is legal to sell, do not list it. Our moderation team screens listings automatically and manually, but screening does not make an unlawful sale lawful.

Reporting a breach

Use the Report button on any listing. Prohibited-item reports are treated as high priority and reviewed before other reports.
